  • Fazilah’s professional journey has taken her to highly reputable mental health centers including the Calgary Family Therapy Center, Eastside Community Mental Health Services (Woods Homes), Alberta Health Services, and the Autism Research Centre. She has trained with influential professionals in the field, including with Psychiatrist Dr. Karl Tomm, a pioneer in family therapy.

    • Master of Social Work (MSW)

    • Master of Health Administration (MHA)

    • Two year Post-master certificates in advanced family therapy

    • Fazilah has presented at several national and international conferences and guest lectured for graduate-level classes at the University of Calgary, University of Lethbridge, and Brierchrest College.

    • She delivers training to mental health clinicians on topics such as single-session therapy, systemic – relational approaches, play therapy with children, and family therapy.

Featuring trailblazing experts and thought leaders, the series explores topics on mindset, health, and meaningful relationships, offering practical insights and engaging discussions to help you live with intention and purpose.

  • Fazilah’s parents and grandparents migrated to Canada over 50 years ago, after facing ethnic persecution in their country of origin. This has profoundly shaped her understanding of the range of challenges that families face and the need for compassion when working with a families.

The Registered Family Therapist (RMFT) designation is an advanced designation that signifies specialized and advanced skills. Working with a RMFT offers families specialized care that focuses on the well-being of children and adolescents within the family unit. RMFTs provide tailored support for addressing emotional challenges, improving communication, and building resilience during life transitions. By working collaboratively with parents and children, RMFTs help families create a nurturing environment where everyone can thrive.
